Privacy Policy for Dream App

This Privacy Policy describes how your information is collected, used, and shared when you use the Dream application.

1. Information We Collect

a) Information You Provide:

Account Information: When you register, we collect your display name and email address through Firebase Authentication. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email, and profile picture as provided by your Google account.

b) Information Stored Locally on Your Device:

To provide a seamless experience, some data is stored only on your device and is never sent to our servers:

            Settings: Your preferences for theme, language, audio, and player settings are stored locally using SharedPreferences.
Bookmarks & Playlists: Bookmarks you create and custom playlists you build are stored in a local SQLite database on your device. This data is not accessible to us.
API Keys: Your Google Gemini API key and TMDB API key are stored securely in SharedPreferences on your device. They are only used to communicate directly from your device to the respective third-party services.

        

c) Information Sent to Third-Party Services:

Certain features require sending data to external services:

            Authentication: Your login credentials are handled securely by Google's Firebase Authentication service.
AI Audio Description: When this feature is active, individual video frames (images) from the media you are playing are sent to the Google Gemini API for analysis. No personal information or file metadata is sent with these frames.
Movie Information: To provide context for AI descriptions, the cleaned title of a video file may be sent to The Movie Database (TMDB) API to fetch metadata.

        

2. How We Use Your Information

To create and manage your account.
To provide the core functionalities of the app, such as media playback and gaming.
To enable advanced features like AI Audio Description at your request.
To save your settings and preferences locally on your device.

3. Information Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personally identifiable information to outside parties. This does not include trusted third parties who assist us in operating our service (like Google for Firebase and AI), so long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential.

4. Your Rights (Data Deletion)

You have the right to delete your account at any time. This can be done from the "My Profile" screen within the app. Deleting your account will permanently remove all your account information (name, email) from our authentication system (Firebase). Data stored locally on your device (like bookmarks and settings) will be removed when you uninstall the app.

5. Security

We take reasonable measures to help protect information about you from loss, theft, misuse, and unauthorized access. All authentication is handled by Google's secure Firebase platform.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy within the app.
