Brainclash ("the Game", "we", "us") is a multiplayer trivia game featuring asynchronous, turn-based matches between players. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using Brainclash, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
Sign-in data: Brainclash uses Firebase Authentication with Google or Apple sign-in. We receive basic account identifiers from your chosen provider (such as an authentication token and associated identifier) solely to create and secure your account. We do not access your provider account beyond authentication.
Profile data: a unique user ID, your chosen username, your player level and experience points (XP), and your in-game statistics.
Gameplay Information
Match data: matches played, rounds, answers you submit, whether answers are correct, and your answer times. Answer timing is measured on our servers for scoring and tie-break purposes.
Statistics: total matches, wins, rounds won/lost, accuracy, win rate, average answer speed, and best-performing category. Statistics are personal to your profile; the Game has no global leaderboard.
Friends and social data: your friends list, challenge invitations, and blocked players.
Messages: chat messages you send and receive through the in-game Messages feature.
Purchases and Virtual Currency
Records of in-app purchases (such as coin packs and ad-removal periods) and your virtual currency balance. Payment processing is handled by the app store (Apple App Store or Google Play); we never receive or store your payment card details.
Device and Technical Information
Push notification tokens (via Firebase Cloud Messaging) so we can deliver game notifications.
Basic technical data required to operate the service, such as connection information and language preference (the Game supports Arabic and English).
We do not access your device contacts.
3. How We Use Your Information
To create and manage your account and authenticate you securely.
To operate matches: generating questions, scoring answers, measuring answer times, determining round and match results, and awarding XP.
To maintain your statistics, level, and profile badges.
To enable social features: friends lists, username search, match invitations, random matchmaking, and chat.
To send push notifications about your matches (new challenge invitations, your turn, turn-expiry reminders, match results, and daily bonus availability). You can turn notifications on or off in the settings.
To process and honor in-app purchases and manage your virtual currency.
To display advertising (see Section 5).
To prevent cheating, fraud, and abuse. All game logic and scoring are validated on our servers.
To moderate the chat feature.
4. Third-Party Services
Brainclash relies on the following third-party services, each of which processes limited data under its own privacy policy:
Firebase Authentication (Google) — sign-in with Google or Apple.
Apple App Store / Google Play — in-app purchase processing.
Advertising networks — ad delivery inside the Game (see Section 5).
We encourage you to review the privacy policies of these providers.
5. Advertising
Brainclash is free to play and supported by advertising. There are two types of ads:
Optional rewarded ads: shown only when you choose to watch them in exchange for in-game currency.
Interstitial ads: shown automatically between rounds. These can be removed for a period of time through an in-game purchase.
Ad networks may collect device identifiers and usage data to serve and measure ads, in accordance with their own privacy policies and your device's advertising settings.
6. Chat and Blocking
By default, only your friends can message you. You may optionally widen this setting to allow messages from other players.
You can block any player. A blocked player can no longer message you, appear to you, or interact with you in the Game.
7. Random Matchmaking and Privacy
The "Random Opponent" mode lets the matchmaking system pair you with another player automatically. Players cannot manually target specific strangers. If you prefer not to participate, a privacy setting lets you exclude yourself from random matchmaking entirely — you will neither receive random match invitations nor be suggested to other players.
8. Data Storage and Security
Game data is stored on our servers in a secured database and transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS).
All scoring, timing, and match logic runs on the server side; correct answers are never sent to your device before you answer, which protects both fairness and data integrity.
Every request to our servers is authenticated with your Firebase identity token.
We maintain regular automated backups, including off-server copies, to protect accounts and purchase records against data loss.
9. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Some records (such as purchase records) may be retained where required for legal, accounting, or fraud-prevention purposes.
10. Age Requirement
Brainclash is intended for players aged 8 and above.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated within the app or on this page, and the "Effective date" above will be updated. Continued use of the Game after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
